Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) will be holding an Open Day for its members and the general public on

Saturday, 5th June 2010 — (also World Environment Day!)
9am-2pm
at Taman Lembah Kiara, TTDI.

Activities include nature walks into Bukit Kiara, scavenger hunts, an exhibition showing 70 years of MNS, and much more.

The TTDI Residents’ Association (TTDI RA) has had an overhaul in its Executive Committee. Encik Hatim Abdullah of Lorong Rahim Kajai 4 is the new TTDI RA Chairman, elected at the recent TTDI RA Annual General Meeting (AGM), on 25 April 2010.

“On 5 Nov 2009 there was an incident at Lrg Aminuddin Baki 2 at about 7.45 pm. Resident came back from work, parked his car in front of the house and when he got down from the car, 2 motorbikes 4 guys (malay) put a knife on his neckand took away some cash, hdp and laptop, etc.”

Apologies for not updating in a long time, the site admin had some issues to resolve, but now should be back on track!

Some interesting updates:
- Due to protest from a certain professor in Jalan Datuk Sulaiman, none of the Gated & Guarded (G&G) communities throughout TTDI may block the roads, request for IC, or deny entry.
- Even so, the G&G project has been initiated for the Rahim Kajai area (covering all but LRK 13 for now), where the guards patrol on an hourly basis
- G&G has also been implemented for Lengkok Aminuddin Baki for now.

2. Proposed Temporary Closure of Lrg Rahim Kajai 13 (LRK 13)
It was proposed that LRK 13 be barricaded temporarily starting from 8pm, 18 Sept 09 to help remove an exit route for would-be criminals.

3. Change of security services company
After feedback from resident-subscribers on the performance of G Garuda Security Services Sdn Bhd since 16th Aug 09, the coordinating committee has decided to engage a new security company: DU Security Services Sdn Bhd. This was based on observing the company’s operation in another residential area. DU Security Services will commence operations from 16th Sept 09.

“1st story
Tuesday 5May. The victim was robbed at midday right in front of his house by 2 guys in a silver perdana which was driven by a third person! As he was opening the gate and holding on to his briefcase, suddenly a guy came and tried to snatch the briefcase from him. There was a tussle and the robber fell but the briefcase also fell when the handle came off. A second guy then quickly came and grab the bag and went off in the perdana with the first guy behind him. In all that commotion, the victim shouted for help but nobody came to his aid eventhough the road was quite busy with traffic passing by as his house was at the corner of Jalan Aminuddin Baki 3 and the road infront of our house leads to  SMKTTDI1! The victim had lost money and all his valuable document in the suitcase.

Looking back we were trying to figure out how the robbers knew the victim had money in the briefcase as he had gone to the bank earlier in the morning. The victim then tried to traced back his journey, after visiting the bank and making a withdrawal, exited the bank and went to a restaurant in front of the house for lunch. After lunch, started to walk back on foot and that was when it happened.The victim had recalled at the bank, that there was a suspicious looking guy in suit who just hang around and was always on the phone. We concluded he may be the informer or somebody at the bank who leaks out information.

A police report was made and the police from brickfields came to take down details and statement.That was it.. After that nothing from the police and no follow up either.The end.

2nd story
This happened late last year. Our house was broken into around 3am and the robbers tried to steal mainly electronic items. The entire family was sleeping, 6 of us in the house when suddenly my son realised there was someone in the house. He had fell asleep on the couch upstairs after doing work late on his MacPro.When the robber realise this ,quickly ran out and alert his accomplice who had earlier opened the front door and side door ajar to get out of the house. the computer was damaged when it dropped but luckily no items was missing.We later found some items like playstation, external hardrive left at the fornt door.We called the police, they came and ask questions and went off. Again that was it. No follow up later.Next day we file a police report at the station.

My comments on the police.
The police just do not show interest to pursue the cases and thinks maybe they are petty thefts. Compare TTDI 20years ago and TTDI now, the police has not been successful in maintaining security in this area. TTDI used to be a safe place where robbery is not rampant as it is today. I am a resident of TTDI when the first block of houses was built at Pinggir Zaaba and thinks TTDI is a peaceful and safe haven. Not anymore! So what is the police doing???

My comments on Sri Lara joint Security Services
They are not effective and not doing enough. When my house was broken into at 3am, where were they ?? If they have been doing their job of hourly patrols, they would have notice the doors wide opened. Maybe they night patrols are not regular, whose monitoring???
Everytime, we are the one informing them of robberies here and there in TTDI, which they are clueless and are not aware at all.
Don’t they have a system where they are inform of whats heppening in TTDI????How to monitor when you yourselve don’t know what’s happening??”
